Savory Cheese Muffins 2 cups (480 ml) all-purpose flour 2 T (30 ml) baking powder 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt 1/2 cup (120 ml) softened butter 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar 2 eggs 1 cup (240 ml) milk 1 cup (240 ml) grated Cheddar cheese (4 oz / 112 g) 1 teaspoon (5 ml) basil Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.  Cream together butter and sugar.  Add eggs and beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Quickly fold in cheese and basil.  Spoon into greased muffin tins. Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 25-30 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
