Norwegian Creamed Meatballs 3/4 pound (340 g) ground beef 3/4 pound (340 g) ground pork 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup (120 ml) mashed potatoes 1/2 cup (120 ml) bread crumbs 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk 2 teaspoons (10 ml) salt 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) pepper 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml)ground ginger 1 teaspoon (5 ml) brown sugar 1 cup (240 ml) all-purpose flour 1/2 cup (120 ml) butter 1 cup (240 ml) heavy sweet cream Combine all ingredients, except the flour, butter and cream, in a large bowl. Mix well until thoroughly blended. Shape this spicy meat-potato mixture into medium-sized balls. Roll balls in the flour. Heat butter in a large skillet and saute meatballs until they are well-browned. Remove meatballs to a casserole or baking dish. Pour juices from skillet over meatballs. Add cream. Cover and bake in pre-heated 350 F (180 C) oven for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
