Chili Salad 1 lb lean ground round 2 cans (15+ oz) kidney beans 1/2 cup chopped onions 2 tblsp hot chili powder or one pkg of French’s Chili-O Mix 1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce 1 packet of equal Salt and pepper to taste Salad ingredients Lettuce Tomatoes cut up in small chunks Chopped onions No fat sour cream No fat, Kraft or Healthy Choice, cheddar cheese Frito Lay WOW brand restaurant style tortilla chips You can add any other veggies that you enjoy on a salad. Experiment. If you like it, use it. Brown the ground round, onions, salt and pepper together. Drain off any excess fat. Add beans, tomato sauce, chili powder. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for a hour. Add the Equal after removing from the heat. In a bowl, break up lettuce into bite size pieces. Cover with about 1/2 to 1 cup of the chili. Add some of the sour cream depending on how much you like. Sprinkle on the tomatoes and onions and top with a small amount of the shredded cheese. Use the chips on the side. Each serving will be between 200 to 350 calories depending on how big a bowl you use. Add 90 calories for 6 tortilla chips.
