Savory Turkey Meatballs in Italian Sauce 5 1/2 to 6 cup cooker makes 8 servings 1 can(28 ounces) crushed tomatoes 1 tablespooooon red wine vinegar 1 medium onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 teaspooon Italian herb seasoning 1 teaspoooon dried basil 1 pound ground turkey breast 2 egg whites 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 1/3 cup quick oats 1/3 cup dried parsley 1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese 1/4 cup unbleached flour nonstick spray Combine the tomatoes, vinegar, onions, garlic, seasonings and basil in an electric slow cooker. Cover and turn slow cooker on to LOW. In a bowl, mix the turkey, egg whites, garlic powder, dried onions, pepper, oats, parsley and cheese. Form into 16 one inch balls and dredge each ball in the flour. Lightly mist the balls with the nonstick spray and brown them on all sides in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Transfer them to the slow cooker. Cover and cool on LOW for 8-10 hours.
